Historian Tracey Gregory worked with The Door on a miniseries of six episodes – each one looking at the story of a woman who once lived near her on Loughborough Road, Brixton. They range from Ella Zuila, ‘funambulist’, to Irene Pye, who once trod the boards of music-hall but went into fishmongering.
